Exosomes Elmhurst IL
Exosomes
Exosomes contain a multitude of growth factors that can enhance natural wound healing and skin rejuvenation at the cellular level.
What are exosomes?
Exosomes are nanoscale extracellular vesicles – very small packages of signalling information one-thousandth the size of a cell. They are produced by virtually every cell type as a means of intercellular communication. This natural paracrine signaling system allows a healthy body to run like a well-oiled machine.

What are the benefits of exosomes?
How do exosomes work?
Exosomes are tiny bubbles that cells send out. Inside these bubbles are proteins—like growth helpers, enzymes, and receptors—that guide a cell’s shape, job, and how it talks to other cells. They also carry messenger RNA (mRNA), which is the instruction sheet for making proteins, and micro RNA (miRNA), which helps pass signals inside a cell. Because exosomes use the same outer layer as the cell that made them, they keep their cargo safe until they reach the right cell.
Once an exosome meets its target cell, its proteins can jump in and change how that cell works and sends messages. The mRNA can be used by the cell to build lots of new, helpful proteins. The miRNA can turn certain protein-making processes up or down by blocking parts of the cell’s own instructions. Exosomes can even nudge the target cell to make and send out its own exosomes, creating a ripple effect that lasts longer than just using proteins by themselves, like in PRP or amniotic fluid.
What exosomes do you carry?
At Accelerated Aesthetics, we carry a variety of exosomes, including XGlo® exosomes.
XoGlo® is a purified mesenchymal stem cell (MSC)-derived exosome product made from special stem cells. It contains many growth factors that help boost the body’s natural healing process and refresh the skin by supporting how cells repair and rebuild themselves.
Mesenchymal Stem Cell Exosomes
This special type of exosome comes from stem cells that help form connective tissues—like skin, hair, bones, muscles, and cartilage. They’re different from exosomes found in adult bone marrow (which mostly come from blood-forming stem cells) or in amniotic fluid (which mostly come from the mother’s cells).

What makes MSC exosomes unique is their strong ability to help build and repair connective tissue. This might explain why stem cell therapy has shown such promising results.
Advantages of Exosome Therapy
As we get older, the number and performance of our stem cells drop a lot. Older stem cells only produce about 30% of the helpful signals (like cytokines and miRNAs) that younger, perinatal stem cells do. Because of this, exosomes from perinatal stem cells work much better than those from older stem cells—whether they come from your own body or someone else’s.

There are additional effects of MSC exosomes on skin, including:
- Help skin cells (fibroblasts) grow and move to where they’re needed
- Boost the production and buildup of collagen
- Support healthy healing and help prevent scarring
- Encourage more hair follicles to stay in the growing phase
- Help repair and renew the cells at the base of hair follicles (dermal papilla cells)
